Every year, in October, I read The Witches to my 3rd graders. They absolutely love it! The book is just a little bit scary and the kids don't always know if they believe it or not, but with the fun accents and the silly story, they get so wrapped up in it! In the first few chapters, Roald Dahl explains how to recognize a real witch. After, we draw and paint "How to Recognize a Real Witch" posters. They are so funny and creative. Here are some examples below!
I love this idea! I love his books! I always read James and the Giant Peach and BFG!

Not sure if you are aloud to do movies at your school. But there is a cute movie that goes with this. It is old 80's, but my kids love watching it after we read the book.
